About
The story behind the stories: where I come from, and why I keep ending up in so many different rooms.
I grew up in Kashmir and trained as an engineer. Then I spent years chasing the part of the work I actually loved, and slowly figured out it was never the spreadsheet, the code, or the stage. It was the story underneath.
These days that shows up in a few places at once. I design data systems at a university. I'm building afsana.ai, an app that turns ideas into cinematic, scene-by-scene presentations. I teach. And every so often, I record a song.
Different rooms, same instinct: take something tangled and tell it as a story someone can actually feel.

A few true things
- I think in stories. Spreadsheets included.
- Kashmiri by roots, Ohioan by GPS.
- I'd rather build the thing than make slides about it, so I built a way to kill the slides.
- Teaching is just how I make sure I actually understand something.
- If a thing can be turned into a song, give me a minute.
Want the long version? It usually comes out over music.
