Years of building data systems, teaching, and performing have led me to one working conclusion: everything succeeds or fails as a story. A data model earns trust by telling clearly what happened. A machine learning system is believed only when its reasoning can be followed.

A lesson lands only when the room can retell it. This site is that conviction in practice: my work, my classrooms, and my music.

A spreadsheet is a story about what happened.

I've spent my career as a data architect reading them that way. Behind every row is a decision someone made, a semester that started, a payment that cleared or didn't. When I design a data platform, I'm really deciding which parts of an institution's story get remembered, and in what order.

A model is a story about what comes next.

Every model I've built or taught is an act of narration: it studies what happened and proposes an ending. Biased data tells a crooked story, and a model repeats it with confidence. So I treat machine learning as editorial work: choose the sources, question the narrator, then let it speak.

A classroom is a story you tell together.

Teaching taught me that no explanation survives a silent room. As adjunct faculty and a workshop lead, I build sessions the way you build a plot: a hook, rising stakes, and a payoff the students reach themselves. The room co-writes the lesson; my job is to leave the right gaps.

A song is a story you can feel.

Melody is the shortest path I know between information and emotion. When I sing, nobody asks for context or footnotes; the story arrives whole, in the key it was meant to be heard. That immediacy is the standard I hold my technical work to.
